Carrier Take-Off Procedure

Engine Start up : Make sure throttle is in the off position before starting engine.Start Engine. After starting, allow engine a few seconds at idle to warm up, while you are letting it warm up check and set folding wings if not already set,Open Cockpit , Adjust Seat to "up" position, set Flaps if needed ( Zero will not need flaps unless carrying loadout ), adjust aeleron trim if desired. When all this is complete slowly bring the throttle up to or near 100% power and wait for clearance to take off. . broadcast " (plane # ) READY".
Take-Off : Leader WILL WAIT until all pilots on flight deck have declared "READY" . Once ready Leader will release chocks and begin his run down the deck. The remaining aircraft should follow at very short intervals (2 seconds)in order by the numbers, try not to allow too much time between aircraft. Leader will continue on the same heading until he hears 4th or 5th plane call "chocks away" then he will begin a wide turn to the left until he has made a 180 degree turn and is heading in the opposite direction. Aircraft following should begin their turns each incrementally sooner so as to tighten up the spacing between aircraft. By the time the leader has passed the carrier going the opposite direction the last couple of planes should be taking off. Leader will then make another slow 180 degree turn keeping an altitude of 500m and come to the same heading as the ship. Leader will pass the ship slightly to the starboard side at around 250 kph to allow the other planes to catch up and join formation. All pilots should take up their position in formation. Once eveyone is in position Leader will announce cruise speed, heading, and altitude.
